When to mail your invitations

We often get asked our advice on timeframes for mailing out your Save the Dates and Wedding Invitations to guests, so we have made an easy-to-reference guide to assist in outlining your timeline —

Once you’ve confirmed your mail date, we can work backwards to determine when we should start working together to create your paper goods. Keep in mind standard timeframes for design/production is 6-8 weeks (+ shipping to you)

MAILING YOUR SAVE THE DATE

For Local Weddings:

Send 6-8 months prior to wedding day

For Destination Weddings:

Send 9-12 months prior to wedding day

  • Save the Dates are optional, but are highly recommended for destination weddings (or events where a large portion of your guest list will be traveling) so travel/accommodation arrangements can be made prior to receiving the formal invitation. Some couples choose to note their website details (if applicable) on here too.

  • If you aren’t sending a Save the Date, it’s advised to mail your Invitations earlier in lieu of this, as per below recommendations.

MAILING YOUR INVITATIONS

For Local Weddings:

If you haven’t sent a Save the Date: Send invitations 4-6 months prior to wedding day

If you have sent a Save the Date: Send invitations 3 months prior to wedding day

RSVP deadline should be (approx.) 4-6 weeks before the wedding

For Destination Weddings

If you haven’t sent a Save the Date: Send invitations 6-9 months prior to wedding day

If you have sent a Save the Date: Send invitations 4 months prior to wedding day

RSVP deadline should be (approx.) 8 weeks before the wedding

  • We advise having your planner/caterer check over your RSVP timeframe prior to confirming these with us.

  • Where possible, avoid sending your suite during the holiday period - if your timeframe falls during this time we’d suggest mailing out a little earlier.
